High-resolution footage of meteors over Central Europe and the southern sky in Chile
Founded in 2010 by amateur astronomers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the CEMeNt network (Central European Meteor Network) has studied meteors for over a decade — and now reaches the Southern Hemisphere. With sensitive Full HD CMOS cameras and the new Southern Spectroscopic Observatory (SSOVMO) in Chile, opened in 2025 with stations at the La Silla and El Sauce observatories, CEMeNt records meteor images and spectra across both hemispheres with unprecedented precision.
